Fasting is something that has been very popularized in the last couple years but has been used therapeutically as far back as the 5th century BCE. Fasting has countless benefits including fighting inflammation, boosted brain function, aids weight loss and many more. I personally used fasting for my weight loss and I was very successful with it due to the fact that I enjoyed the large meals that came with it. So where does coffee come into play when fasting? Black coffee is an appetite suppressant so I would drink a black coffee the moment I started to get hungry and it would usually keep me satiated for 2-3 hours. Am I saying go and crush 15 coffees in a day and don't eat? most definitely not, but it is a great tool to use when you really need it.
